Associated Tool Works, Inc. Success Story
Associated Directional
Drilling has used several different sonde housings with various conventional
allen-set screw configurations, only to have the set screws and bolts back
out while drilling. As a result, our directional drillers lost several
sonde housings / probes and encountered a variety of down-hole problems,
such as clock rolling to a false position which led to mislocations. ATW
has invented and produced a fully adjustable clock side-door sonde housing
which does not use allen set screws or bolts (patents pending). With this
design, it requires less than 60 seconds to adjust the clock or remove
the sonde / probe. The reliability of accuracy is virtually 100% and the
speed of operation is also increased considerably.
